I find myself endlessly fascinated with jewellery – with its intimate connection to the body and its projection of personal identity, both external and internal.
My work has a rough textural quality with the handcrafted mark of the artist displayed as a feature characteristic. I utilise the raw elemental feel of rocks and organic material and in conjunction with this I also place sense of urban cityscapes and human construction within my work.
I principally employ traditional jewellery techniques and materials; however I subvert the working process to my own creative instincts and vision, along with an edge of serendipity, to produce innovative contemporary jewellery.
I have just completed my Bachelor of Applied Arts, majoring in Jewellery Design at Whitireia Polytechnic. I work from home where I have set up a studio.
