Benjamin Flynn

Benjamin was born in 1971. He first learnt jewellery-making techniques at Daniel Clasby's Auckland workshop. From 1986 to 1994 he worked as a ceramicist but after travelling through south-east Asia in 1994/95 his interest in jewellery was renewed. He worked with jewellers in Timor and Bali learning skills in primitive methods of jewellery production. In 1995 Benjamin set up his workshop in Auckland and started supplying and exhibiting at, galleries around the country. Ben's work was also included in the 2nd NZ Jewellery Biennial at the Dowse Art Museum.

In 1998 he set up Royal Jewellery Studio in Auckland where he sells the work of 20-30 contemporary NZ jewellers.
