Jacob Sheehan

I began carving at the age of 14 in my fathers jade studio in Rotorua.

I have grown up around greenstone and learnt the skill of jade carving from both my father and brothers, who are all well established carvers, the former a sucessful greenstone business owner.

Through working along side skilled carvers from an early age I developed a passion for carving and learnt all that I know.

While holding down a hectic and busy degree programme at the Victoria University of Wellington, carving takes the front seat during holidays when i head home to Hamilton to utilise my fathers workshop.

At the moment I am furthering my skills with jade by combining it with silver and various other materials.
