Kathryn Yeats is an eclectic jeweller whose pieces are inspired by a fascination with the exploration of ideas and materials.
Kathryn has completed an arts degree including a diverse range of papers form both sciences and humanities. Her practice draws together these threads with a focus on jewellery design gathered while completing her Diploma in Visual Arts at Whitireia.
“I am concerned with infusing tactile and beautiful jewellery objects with narratives and ideas collected from my study of materials history, culture and science. I strive to strike a balance between considered and intuitive work processes to create new ways to view both concepts and jewellery objects.”
Kathryn’s work is diverse, but is frequently characterized by the exploration of textile techniques, alternative materials, processes, details, decoration, secrets and narratives.
