Marty Jestin

My background as a manufacturing jewellery in Aotearoa and Philadelphia, has given me the skills to create my own style of contemporary jewellery and wearable art.

I use a wide range of recycled materials and found objects, ranging from, whalebone to cell phone speakers in the creation of my pieces, Each piece is individually handmade using professionally recycled silver as well as other metals, I enjoy creating new and interesting ways in which to reuse objects, that are normally deemed as having no further use. Inspiration for my work comes from Salvador Dali’s surreal works, as well as other nonsense seekers like Dr Seuss. My wish is that people will view my work with an open mind to an alternative reality through something simple yet striking.
