Richard Hassall

Richard studied Jewellery Art and Design in Vancouver, Canada and graduated in 1992. He moved to New Zealand in 1998 and has lived in Greytown with partner Janie Nott and their 3 children Rosa, Carlo and Zach.

Richard is drawn to hand fabrication due to his fascination of the alchemy of transforming an ingot of metal into a finished piece. He has a strong connection with traditional jewellery making techniques and materials. Richard likes to use precious metals and stones and is also intrigued by the mythological and Talismanic qualities of jewellery.
