The Way I See It

Helena moved to New Zealand from Sweden in June 2000. She creates works that combine her Swedish minimalist background with the Pacific influences that she has been exposed to since moving here.

She uses a range of materials in her jewellery, including stone, bone, wood, shell, feathers and glass.

Her beautiful collection will be on show in the gallery from October 16 to November 5 2008.

Helena says about her work: "This body of work is inspired by current events (2006-2008) and experiences I have living in New Zealand in relationship to my Swedish upbringing and life. Some pieces are a reflection on places I have lived since I first came to New Zealand in 1993."
